Long Episode Description: Bryan points out Lili is full of energy running from side to side. It's discovered she drank Neelix's invention of "Even better than coffee substitute" from Star Trek: Voyager which is why she is full of overstimulated energy, however after Lili eventually sprains one of her lower extremities, Bryan talks to the ships Medical officer about her using Nanites, typically used by the Federation for medical purposes, but instead she apparently was given Nanoprobes, as a microscopic robotic devices used by the Borg for the primary purpose of assimilation. On the subject of Borg, Bryan and Lili are thrilled to interview a prominent Borg from the 7th season Star Trek; The Next Generation episode "Descent, Part II" plus many other Deep Space Nine and Voyager episodes, that being Joe Murphy. Murphy, a world record holder stuntman who performed many high-profile Hollywood stunts begins to share his story being born in New York, and raised in a small town in Bergen County, New Jersey, called Paramus. Murphy talks about taking a Class C motor home in 1981 with his German shepherd dog for a long 3,000-mile drive across the country to Santa Monica, California looking up Paul Stader for his stunt school in the phone book. Joe is asked by Lili about his work doing props for the CBS TV sitcom series "Dreams," starring John Stamos. Where he met a producer named Ron Frazier while Joe was in his twenties. Joe goes on to talk about wanting to be a stuntman and being asked if he got his SAG card by Paul Stader via a phone call in 1985. Paul was testing Joe Murphy to see if he would persevere, because people would train with him, find out how hard the business was, and then go back home. Stader told Joe he had a job for him tomorrow at MGM Studios." It was an Irwin Allen television production called Alice in Wonderland. Joe goes on to say when preparing your stunts, "...you do your stunts safely, and you understand that you're only as good as your safety crew. The people who are your safety crew are the people who make you look good." Bryan then asks Joe to talk about the year 1989. And the fact that Chuck Norris is a hero for many Americans; including Joe Murphy in particular talking about the film "Delta Force 2". Joe articulates when he left to go to California he told his karate teacher, "Someday I want to meet Chuck Norris and be one of the guys he beats up. He beats up twenty guys - I want to be one of them." Joe's dream became a reality as he states that Chuck Norris took the whole stunt crew white-water rafting when filming Delta Force 2. Lili asks Joe Murphy to discuss the early season one Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode titled "Captive Pursuit". Joe Murphy boisterously refers to himself and a lot of stuntmen as being helmet heads, specifically as hunter uniformed personnel. Joe goes on to say Dennis Madalone and Kenny Lesco were bouncing all over the place - all the walls - and getting phaser blasts. Joe states this was his first job with them (on Star Trek as a stuntman), where Dennis was easing him into it. Joe Murphy articulates "they shot me from the second tier. I looked up over my left shoulder and took a phaser blast to my back. That was my first experience with Star Trek, and it was the greatest." Lili then asks Joe about being a Borg compound guard for Data's evil brother Lore in the 7th season Star Trek; The Next Generation episode "Descent, Part II". "Murphy goes on to talk about how Patrick Stewart was such a gentleman, kind man, very smart and that he gives the Star Trek set total respect as the menacing alien outside from his perspective. Reacting to Joe's story, host Bryan Kreutz states he distinctly remembers the close-up shots where, quote "for the first time, we can see both eyes of a Borg. It's interesting how safety procedures actually led to seeing the Borg in a way we never did before." After, Joe states the reason why he took his Borg eye cylinder out. Furthermore, Joe Murphy talks about how stuntmen automatically are looking for something that, when they jump or hit the ground it might hurt them. So, he wanted to get rid of that Borg eye piece. And seeing that Dennis Madalone let him get close to the principal actor, Patrick Stewart, he took it off so you could actually see more of his face. Joe says quote "When else would I ever get a chance to get a close-up like that over Mr. Patrick Stewart?" Bryan hesitantly seeing something is off with his co-host, asks Lili if she is ready to finish their first of two parts interview with Joe Murphy. Lili oddly with head jerks off to the side of the ambassadors' quarters has an arousing moment into wakefulness with her delayed reaction to Bryan stating that she's sorry and something must be off with the nanites. Lili has clearly been taken over in her body by the Borg Collective. With concern Bryan tells viewers they can see the rest of our interview with Joe Murphy and if Lili and I can survive an encounter with the Borg Collective, to be sure to tune in next week.
