Newroz 2026 – Festival of Spring takes place April 25th at Pioneer Courthouse Square. A day of music, dance, culture, and community as Portland welcomes the new season. Registration is free and open to all.
Nedim Korkmaz is one of the producers of Newroz 2026 and a cultural leader in the Portland community.
Born in a small Anatolian town, raised in a family rooted in rug making, Nedim carries a heritage shaped by color, pattern, and tradition. One of nine children, his journey began on a kilim rug and continues today through his work.
He is the owner of Constantinople Restaurant and Nomadic Vintage Rugs on SE Morrison and Grand, where he brings together food, textiles, and culture as spaces for connection, art, and storytelling.
