Harold Klemp, the spiritual leader of Eckankar shares insights about clarifying the sacredness of singing HU, the Love Song to God. Harold states “(Singing HU) is a mantra above all others. The beautiful HU Song, you can sing it individually or in a group, but you are lifting yourself spiritually. It is not to change another’s state of consciousness because that is black magic. In ECK, we see this as whenever you try to change another to your way of thinking, or your state of consciousness, through prayer or in some other way, that is black magic. Changing someone else’s life without permission is black magic. And this is a violation against the spiritual Law of Life.”
